About the Author
Ella the Elegant Elephant is the brainchild of the husband-and-wife team, Carmela and Steven D'Amico. Steven, with a strong interest in illustration, and Carmela, with a background in writing, had wanted to work together on a children's book project for years, even before they were married. Carmela explains, “I was striving for something substantial enough to stand alone as a story, but would also serve to showcase Steven's talents.” The idea of Ella the Elephant came to Carmela in a dream, and the couple developed the stories from there.

Wonderful Read Along

The voice of the reader is really well done. She brings the story to life without being overly dramatic. A good way for kids who are just learning to read to follow along.

Good story with great CD

The story is a good one for learning lessons of friendship, acceptance, and learning to cop with children who are not kind. The CD that accompanies the book is read beautifully.

Ok story, the reader's voice grates

This book is ok. The story is forgettable, but not horrible or offensive. That said, I would not buy again because I find the voice of the reader (on the cd) to be extremely annoying. I don't know-it just grates on my nerves. I really wish more kids' book were available with cds because my 4 year old daughter really loves listening to them and "reading" along.
